Our Beliefs

  • We are part of the historic Christian church and believes the good news (gospel) is that God’s grace and unfathomable love are available to all people through Jesus Christ. God’s grace is a gift, not something earned by human effort.
  • People are imperfect and cannot earn salvation. Salvation is God’s gift of grace received through faith in Christ alone. There’s no special prayer, work, or merit that a person must perform to earn this gift.
  • As Church we believe in one God in three persons — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — a belief expressed in the historic Apostle’s, Nicene, and Athanasian Creeds.
  • The Bible (Old and New Testaments) is seen as the authoritative witness to God’s work in the world. As ELCA church, we also affirm the ecumenical creeds and Lutheran confessional writings compiled in the Book of Concord, particularly the teachings of Martin Luther and the Augsburg Confession.
  • The two sacraments Baptism & Holy Communion are central means through which God delivers grace. Baptism marks believers as God’s people, and Holy Communion is a meal of forgiveness, strengthening faith and unity in Christ.
  • Our Worship and Christian life are centered around God’s Word and sacraments. As ELCA church, our worship usually involves gathering, hearing Scripture, receiving Communion, and being sent into the world.
  • Members are encouraged to live out their faith in acts of love, justice, and peace and to engage thoughtfully with the world.
  • We participate in full communion agreements with several other Protestant denominations, committing to shared mission and mutual respect despite differences.

Our Mission & Vision

Our Mission

“As a worshipping community of God’s faithful servants, we, the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, endeavour to show the love, hope, and comfort of Christ by carrying God’s word to all.”

Mission Statement (Adopted August 15, 1999)

Our Vision

We believe that the church exists to be both a home and a mission. We are called to remain faithful to the heritage passed down through our founding congregations, while also preparing for tomorrow by building strong families, nurturing children, and serving our neighbors.

Guided by the Holy Spirit, we envision a congregation where worship is vibrant, fellowship is genuine, and service is a natural expression of faith.
